Medicare has four parts — and two main ways to receive your benefits. Here's what each one does.
Medicare Part A
Hospital insurance. Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health services.

Medicare Part B
Medical insurance. Covers doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and medically necessary services.
